One foot in the Giennois, the other in the Sancerrois. Émile Balland has vines in his blood. And that's putting it mildly, since his family has been making wine since 1650. He himself studied oenology in Toulouse, and then went to work, not on the coal but on the shoots, carrying high the colors of the grapes he grew and gleaned. Sauvignon and Pinot Noir transpire with tender Sancerres, white or red. With a Gamay, you'll be swept away by the red and rosé Coteaux-du-Giennois. A winegrower's delight!
