MAIRIE DE NEVERS
The developments carried out in recent years in the centre of Nevers (reopening of the municipal museum, stroll area along the banks of t he Loire, restructuring of Place Carnot, etc.) have contributed to giving the Nevers people a pleasant living environment, from which they know how to fully benefit! Thus, the Rue du 14 Juillet has been completely redone, offering pretty terraces to the various restaurants along the street. Rue Saint Martin and Place Carnot have been completely restructured. Similarly, the walk along the Loire towards Ver-Vert has been completely redesigned, offering a more accessible walk for all, punctuated by educational panels on the fauna living along the Loire banks. The Petit théâtre, so dear to the heart of the Nevers residents, is now a must for cultural and artistic outings: restoration, works, months of hard work have been necessary to restore this jewel of Nièvre's heritage to its full splendor. Concerts, festivals, shows with renowned headliners are now the daily life of this place of entertainment! New projects in progress: on the one hand the Maison de la Culture with, in the background, a complete upgrading of its environment, namely a restructuring of the Mantuan quay and the garden overlooking it, and on the other hand, beyond the Loire, the La Jonction site with renaturation works... to follow! Finally, let's not forget to mention the consolidation and restoration work on the City Hall building itself. The weakened stone was becoming dangerous for the public, so the noble building is gradually recovering the proud appearance of the neoclassical architecture that distinguished it.
Nevers continues to grow, wishing more than ever to be a dynamic city where it's good to live.
