LE PONT DE LOIRE
The Bridge of Glory designed by the architect Louis de Règemortes in 1767 in Nevers.
Spanning the Loire at the foot of the ducal city, the Pont de Loire is intimately linked to the city. Giving access to the city from Lyon, the stone bridge sets its massive arches in the bed of the Loire River. Designed by the architect Louis de Règemortes in 1767, the bridge was built by several engineers such as Abraham Mossé, whose adjoining square still overlooks the structure. Completed in 1832, the bridge is now proudly decorated with flags during various events in the city, and since 2020 its arches are illuminated.
