Public washhouse located in the Valley of the Mills, fed by a precious spring called Sorgente dei Canali.
This public washhouse is located in the Moulins Valley, just outside the historic centre of Rio nell'Elba, in the north-eastern part of the village. It is supplied by a precious spring, called "Sorgente dei Canali", which has also enabled the construction of several water mills in the region. Laundries were one of the few places where women could meet and talk. Recently restored, Rio nell'Elba's public washhouse is accessible free of charge to visitors and regularly hosts exhibitions, concerts and other events.
