A seafood restaurant overlooking the gulf of Marina di Campo.

It is one of the historic restaurants on the island of Elba, flanked by a large terrace overlooking the gulf of Marina di Campo. Superb view! The Kontiki's cuisine, dedicated to fresh fish from local fishing, is simple, beautifully prepared and generous. It is therefore the time to taste the specialities of the island, such as tuna tagliata or the magnificent cacciucco, here perfectly mastered and seasoned. Otherwise, for more classic appetites, the menu offers pizzas cooked over a wood fire that will do just as well.

Service lässt zu wünschen übrig. Freundlich wurden wir empfangen und haben einen Tisch im Innenraum bekommen da wir nicht reserviert haben. Wie überall in Italien stand dann das Wasser relativ schnell auf dem Tisch. Danach warteten wir 15 Minuten auf die erste Bestellung obwohl bis dahin das Restaurant noch fast leer war. Die zwei Vorspeisen waren dann flott da und haben teils gut geschmeckt, bis auf das vertrocknete Brot der nicht spicy Fischsuppe. Nach nunmehr einer halben Stunde wurde unser Weinwunsch nicht aufgenommen und die Bestellung des Hauptganges ließ weiterhin auf sich warten. Folglich brachen wir das Essen ab selbstverständlich ohne Verständnis des Personals und durften dann für 5 Getränke und 2 Vorspeisen 83€ zahlen. Ganz schwache Leistung für ein so hochpreisiges Etablissement.

Il Kontiki è diventato il nostro ristorante preferito su Elba. Abbiamo mangiato del pesce freschissimo e preparato perfettamente. Mimmo e tutto lo staff sono delle persone magnifiche e molto attenti. Ci siamo sentiti sempre a nostro agio e la vista sul porto è spettacolare. Non vediamo l'ora di ritornare. Grazie di cuore
