The southernmost island of the Tuscan archipelago, indented and forms numerous coves within two main bays
The coast of Giannutri, the southernmost island of the Tuscan archipelago, is indented and forms numerous coves within two main bays, Cala Spalmatoio, to the north-east, and Cala Maestra, on the opposite side, to the north-west. The latter, particularly known for its magnificent 2nd century villa, also has a small port (where you arrive if you come from Giglio) and a beach with crystal-clear waters. It is possible to reach Cala Spalmatoio by taking a path, for about 600 metres, through the unspoilt nature of the island.
