CASTELLO DI ROCCABIANCA
Imposing fortress of rectangular shape built by Pier Maria Rossi
This imposing rectangular fortress was built by Pier Maria Rossi between 1450 and 1465 for his mistress Bianca Pellegrini, hence the name Roccabianca. Opposite the entrance stands the keep, originally accessible by a drawbridge. Inside, there are magnificent pictorial cycles inspired by the loves of Pier Maria Rossi and Bianca, astrological figures and delicate vegetal motifs. The basement of the castle houses a balsamic vinegar distillery and a tasting room for local products, with the possibility of buying them on site.
