CASTLE MAS NINE
A dozen minutes walk from the road is necessary to reach the departmental domain of the Mas Neuf. On the spot you discover a beautiful Languedocian building planted in the heart of a typical Causse vegetation. Despite its wild nature, this environment is deeply marked by man's hand. At the foot of the mas, signs reflect the history of exploitation through its green and agricultural activities. From the Mas Neuf, a marked trail of less than one kilometer leads you to the Rocher du Causse. You can observe the vestiges of chalcolithic constructions (-2200 BC). Around the ruins, signs tell you a little longer about the builders of this high-perched city. From the oppidum and the orientation table the view of the hinterland, garrigues and the Mediterranean is impregnable.
