JAHIR MAZREKU MUSEUM
This municipal museum (Muzeu Jahir Mazreku, Muzej Jahira Mazrekua) is named after a librarian from Malisheva/Mališevo who died fighting in the ranks of the KLA in April 1999 at the age of 32. Most of the exhibition space is thus devoted to the Albanian "heroes" of the Kosovo war. Fortunately, there are also the paleo-Christian objects discovered in 2005 in the Banja burial mound (4 km to the southeast): crucifixes and bronze jewellery (rings, bracelets, necklaces). The burial mound dates back to the Iron Age, but it was reused in the early Middle Ages.
