CHURCH AND SCHOOL OF STUBLA (SHKOLA DHE KISHA E STUBLLËS/ŠKOLA I CRKVA STUBLA)

The particularity of the church of Stublla is to host a school for 5 centuries. Opened in 1584, it is the first Albanian language school in Kosovo. It is founded on the initiative of the parish priest whose population is predominantly Albanian Catholic, despite the persecutions perpetrated by the Ottomans who then occupy the region. This explains that the school is integrated into the church buildings itself. She was officially recognized as a school in 1905. Its activity was more or less important in terms of the political events that marked Kosovo's history.
