CAMP NOTHING HILL
Located in a meander of the Ibar River at the southern entrance to Leposavić/Leposaviq, this small KFOR military base is not well regarded by the Serbian inhabitants of the region. The role of the 300 (mostly American) soldiers stationed here is to monitor the border with Serbia and to maintain the authority of the Kosovar government. Pristina has little or no control over the region or smuggled imports. The first camp was burnt down in 1999 and since then conditions have been deemed so difficult that Nato soldiers are relieved every month.
