VIA FERRATA BERIM
Located on Mount Berim (1,733 m) in the Mokra Gora massif, this via ferrata is one of the longest in Europe and one of the most impressive. However, it does not require any climbing experience, just good physical condition, stamina and not being prone to vertigo. This climbing course with steel structures (in Italian via ferrata means "railroad") was created in 2015 by the Zubin Potok tourist office (Outdoor In) and completed in 2019. It stretches for 4 km in length with a 500 m difference in altitude and requires about 4 hours of climbing (8 hours in total with the approach and return), but it is possible to walk only one section. The Berim via ferrata includes an 80 m high cliff to climb with rungs fixed in the rock, a 27 m long footbridge, a 9 m long "Nepalese" bridge (a cable to put your feet on and two other cables to hold on to) and a nice passage through a cavity equipped with a bench to take a break above the void while contemplating the imposing landscape. Built according to French standards, this via ferrata corresponds to category B (moderately difficult). Several agencies organize the excursion with guides and safety equipment (helmets, harnesses, etc.), sometimes with room and board. The best placed of them is Outdoor In, i.e. the tourist office of Zubin Potok which created the route.
