CAFE DE BANGKOK
This family-run restaurant on the southern outskirts of Hallowell serves decent Thai and Japanese cuisine, but nothing more. The large dining room, decorated with garlands of plastic flowers and pieces of fabric from Thailand, seems to appeal to locals, many of whom come here to eat with their families. Others prefer the take-away and reheat-at-home option. This is reflected in the somewhat sluggish service, which has to manage several fronts at once. Nevertheless, the experience is an interesting alternative to American cuisine.
