CARDONA CASTELL
The impressive 11th century Cardona Castle offers a magnificent view of the Cardener basin and the Salt Mountain.
Centuries of history are hidden inside this fortress, which was built in the 11th century. In the Middle Ages, it was the residence of the lords of Cardona, which allowed them to make the castle one of the political epicenters of the Crown of Aragon, thanks to the exploitation of salt. It offers a magnificent view of the Cardener basin and the Salt Mountain. Since 1976, the castle has been part of the Parador hotels. Visit it and relive the sieges, the battles and find out why the lords of Cardona were called the Kings without a crown.
