HYLAND HOUSE
House named after the farmer who built it, converted into a museum to discover the New England of the past
This 1713 house is named after the farmer who bought the land and built it, George Hyland. The barn dates from 1725. Sentenced to destruction in 1916, the house was finally purchased and restored to its colonial appearance and converted into a museum in 1918. The floors, hand-made, as well as the walls are original. The house is now furnished with an exceptional collection of 17th and 18th century furniture. A visit that allows you to discover the New England of yesteryear.
