The best preserved medieval castle in Tilos, ideal for watching the sunset.

The Knights of the Order of St. John built seven medieval fortresses in Tilos. The medieval castle you see overlooking Megalo Horio, clinging to the Agios Stefanos Mountains, is the best preserved fort on the island. A path climbs up in about 30 minutes (be careful, the climb is steep so avoid the hot hours). From above, you will have a panoramic view of the bay of Agios Antonios and the fertile valley that extends to the bay of Eristos. It is perhaps the most beautiful place in Tilos to watch the sunset.
