We have been coming to Villa Ottone for years - already back on the 70s. It is like being at home. Staff extremely helpful. Great pool a hotel.beach. beach. My grandson says there is no.other place like this. He has been coming since he was born 10 years ago. It is like going home. So.many guests are like us. They come back year after year. We have made some great friends.

At the end of the day, whether you enjoy your stay at a hotel is completely dependent upon your expectations and if the hotel met them.

There is, of course, no definitive, objective rating.

Based upon the price and my careful reading of reviews, I was expecting a 5-star hotel, albeit perhaps rough around the edges to justify the lower price range. Obviously not high-end luxury – but a more family-run hotel with a few personal touches. The sort of place you’d leave and forget about any of the small negatives because “they” were just so “nice and sweet”.

This place is a complete dump.

Here’s what you can expect for your naiveté in thinking you’ve found a diamond in the rough:

- Teenagers with knuckle tattoos at the beach club watching tiktok videos at full volume.

- You will need to order your drinks up at the bar and wait for the salty staff to throw it into a nasty plastic cup.

- A 5-star beach club where I have to drink my Champagne from a bloody plastic *cup*.

- You will cut your feet to shreds on the rocks each time you walk from your cheap plastic $10 “sun lounge” to the water’s edge.

- There is no beach here: just rocks of all different sizes with a few nice bits of broken glass to spice things up.

Something important to note: Restaurant do not start any service before 19:45/20:00. Take heed if you have small kids…

There are just so many things; I’ll not list them all here except for one last one which is the worst and most unforgivable: You will not sleep. Almost every night there is a terrible “band” playing at such obnoxious volume it is impossible to even attempt sleep. I had to storm into reception to check if they’d gone mad on three separate nights (after which I gave up). The staff are horrible except for the manager at the American bar who was great.

I felt embarrassed to have stayed here.

Sul mare in posizione stupenda con parco meraviglioso. Struttura prestigiosa. Servizio al top, cucina allo stesso livello!!!

Dieses Hotel hat wahnsinnig charm und wirklich einen großartigen Service! Es liegt toll mit privaten Steinstrand mit Blick auf Portoferaio.
Das Essen vor allem im Ottonella (Restaurant am Pool) und der Appetivo sind ein absoluter Traum!
Die Zimmer allerdings haben nichts mit 5 Sternen zu tun sondern eher 3 Sterne plus. Das macht tatsächlich nichts weil man viel am Strand oder Pool ist. Trotzdem wäre eine kleine Investition hier sicher schön und vielleicht auch einen Sandstrand aufzuschütten.

Sul mare avevamo una suite con terrazzo enorme e praticamente sul mare ottimo il servizio spiaggia compreso e riservato agli ospiti

My wife and I had the most dreamy wedding here in late May. The service, ambiance, and food all exceeded our expectations. The bartenders, servers, cleaning crew, chef, and management team are all superb. Everyone was very pleased with their rooms, especially our room in the villa with a nice ocean facing balcony which was just amazing. We'll be back!

The location simply can’t be beat. An incredible secret in the Mediterranean! The staff is amazingly friendly, helpful and accommodating.

The food is what you expect in a place like this, refined and delicious. And of course, the beach and views are breathtaking.

Stupenda villa in un angolo spettacolare dell'Elba. Elegante con personale qualificato e particolarmente disponibile e cortese. Un lungo dove rilassarsi e ritrovare se stessi lontano dal rumore ma non troppo lontano da Portoferraio . Dalla spiaggia dell'hotel nuotando lungo la costa verso nord, nord-est ,i fondali sono variegati e sempre più affascinanti.

Hotel immerso in un parco secolare, il profumo delle ginestre ti avvolge.
Location in una villa retrò, camere in stile col loro fascino.
C'è anche una spiaggetta privata, ma essendo stata in primavera non ne ho usufruito.
Personale disponibile e gentile.

Excepcional hotel. Estancia de ensueño. La ubicación es estupenda con vistas al mar. Tiene playa privada aunque de piedras pero cómoda. Con un bar estupendo en la playa para disfrutar de un aperitivo. El atardecer es precioso desde la parte del jardín. Nosotros lo disfrutamos con música en directo. Una maravilla!

Meraviglioso in tutto , vista mare magnifica , ristorante al top un particolare ringraziamento al personale di sala per la disponibilità e la gentilezza, servizio veramente perfetto .Vacanza veramente eccezionale.

Impossibile non essere rapiti dall’elegante e confortevole mood di Villa Ottone che ad ogni ora della giornata riserva colori e scorci unici. L’antica Villa affacciata sul mare, il parco secolare, la discesa alla spiaggia , il campo da tennis e la piscina con vista sul golfo, sono autentiche unicità.
Servizio ottimo, eccellente ristorazione, cortesia del personale. Tutto quanto sopra consente di superare alcune manchevolezze per un 5*.

Molto bello e tranquillo il parco in cui si trova la struttura.
La spiaggia privata è un po' corta, ma è ben organizzata.
