CHIESA DELLA MADONNA DELLA NEVE
Church built in the 16th century on the remains of a hermitage of the Romanesque period.
On a hilltop, the Madonna de la Neige church was built in the 16th century on the remains of a Romanesque hermitage. The simple structure comprises a single nave, a campanile with a pyramidal roof and a sacristy. The church's name derives from the "miracle of the snow", which occurred around 350 AD, during the pontificate of Pope Liberus, when on the morning of August 5, the Esquilino, one of Rome's seven hills, was covered in snow.
