Mausoleum of the Tonietti family, in Art Nouveau style, located in Pinetina, near Cavo.
After parking your car near the castle, a wide path (medium slope) of the GTE leads to the mausoleum of an eminent family. The Tonietti were, in fact, the first concessionaires of the iron mines, located on the east coast of the island of Elba, after national unity.
From a distance, the top of the mausoleum rises like a lighthouse through the green mantle of wild vegetation. This singular building, the only Art Nouveau style on Elba Island, was designed in 1904 by the Florentine architect Adolfo Coppedè (1871-1951).
