ARMENIAN CHURCH
The church of the Holy Résurrection reveals the presence of an Armenian community, which has been in Dhaka since the end of the th century. A dozen families settled to engage in the trade in muslin, a precious and coveted fabric on European markets. They built their church in 1781 and the members of the colony were buried there. If today Dhaka has little Armenians, a mass is celebrated in the church at Easter and Christmas. To visit it, you must ask the guardian to open it. He, or his son, speaks a very good English and will be happy to have you visit the building that has undergone extensive restoration. You can find them in the house at the back of the church, at the bottom of the garden.
