This Hindu temple enjoys national temple status, as it belongs to the State. The city's main Hindu temple, its name means "goddess of Dhaka". The site has been a place of worship since the th century, but the current buildings are much more recent and impossible due to numerous destruction and restorations over the centuries. The temple was severely damaged during the Liberation War, with Pakistani forces destroying more than half of the buildings. If he seems to be calm throughout the year, he has a special passion at the time of the festival of Durga puja (towards mid-October). A Durga idol is placed in the middle of the temple and the pilgrims affluent to pay homage to him.

500 m north of the fort of Lalbagh, his visit can take a slight detour by going to the fort.
