NATIONAL MEMORIAL TO THE MARTYRS
This national monument celebrates the 7 martyrs of the Liberation War, who gave their lives alongside many others to gain independence from Bangladesh. The monument assembles 7 triangles triangles of different heights that joined to form only one element. In the heart of a 34-hectare park, the path to the monument is paved with red bricks, symbolizing the blood paid by the 3 million victims of war. The marches rising and descending remind the difficult struggle to achieve independence. The concrete structure, 45 m high, was opened in 1982. The esplanade is black in world at Independence Day on March 26. The memory of this traumatic struggle is still very vivid in minds and this place of remembrance is one of the most visited in the country. If you go to Dhamrai with a guide, you will be here. Others can get off from the bus in Savar because the monument is located along the road from Dhaka to Dhamrai.
