KAZI & KAZI TEA ESTATE
This tea plantation is the only one in Bangladesh that has obtained «organic» certification abroad. Recognized by the American, Swiss and Japanese authorities, this tea has the reputation of being the best in the country. The young tea trees were planted on a land that had never used agriculture before, to ensure that it did not contain pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The plantations are protected by large margousiers, which act as parasols, preventing tea leaves from burning in the sun and ensuring natural drainage of the soil. Kzai began its activity in 2000, relying on local communities. Since then, it has initiated other projects aimed at the development of these communities, such as a dairy cooperative or literacy programs.
