A Persian inscription found inside that mosque indicates that it was built in 1582 by Khan Muhammad Bin Tuwi Khan Qaqshal. It is therefore one of the oldest buildings of the Mughal era, with the Kherua Mosque of Sherpur (on the same plan). Entirely in brick, it is surmounted by three domes. Floral motifs and decorated niches are still inspired by the period of the Sultanate, but the prayer room is inspired by the Mughal tradition of the North. One legend claims that this mosque was built in one night.
