Lalon Shah is one of the most revered saints in Bangladesh (see box). A place of pilgrimage, its tomb attracts many Bangladeshi people in Kusthia, particularly at the Bisannuel Utsab biennial festival. In March, for his birth, and in October, for his death, many people read poems, sing du and dance around the tomb of Lalon Shah. The rest of the year, the white mausoleum crowned with a huge bulb attracts admirers in smaller numbers. You may fall on a few people singing with a ektara, a "guitar" to a rope.
