KUAKATA BEACH
The long beach of Kuakata offers a quiet and serene environment from which you can watch local fishermen sink into the water up to the waist to hope to catch fish in their nets. With its convex shape, you can admire the sun up and go down without moving its towel. Unlike Cox's Bazar, there are no proposed activities and the crowd, outside of Buddhist or Hindu festivals, is never present. The Muslim community of Kuakata is very conservative and many are veiled women. For the inhabitants, it is not recommended to spread on the beach in bathing suit, especially for women. If you want to swim, take a long t-shirt and a long underwear or salwar.
When Des arrived in 1764, Kuakata was only mangroves. There is still an intact portion to the east of the beach, the forest of Gangamati, which can be the subject of a beautiful two-hour walk (return).
