This village of about 20 000 families houses a Mro community, with only representatives in Bangladesh. It includes a primary school (construction at the entrance to the village, on heights) and traditional bamboo houses. The Mro women are recognizable to the loops of conical silver earrings that they display. Traditionally, men also wear earrings and long hair mounted in a bun on top of their heads, but this custom seems to disappear.
