MAINAMATI MUSEUM
This museum, located next to the monastery of Salban Vihara, exposes various objects found on the site. You will see, in particular, the copper plates depicting the Deva dynasty, which governed the region until the middle of the th century, and then that tracing the line of the Chanda, the ensuing dynasty. The museum displays the terracotta plates that adorned the walls of the buildings on the same model as those of Paharpur. Alongside these particularly well-preserved masterpieces, some Hindu basalt statues.
Smart Council: We recommend that you visit the museum first and then visit the Site Vihara site.
