JAGUAR TEMPLE
Very impressive temple featuring 2 large jaguar heads on each side of the structure and objects made from copper
Built in the 6thcentury and then significantly modified in the 8thand 13thcenturies , the Jaguar Temple is very impressive, with two large jaguar heads integrated on either side of the structure. Part of the temple is invisible to the public as it is buried underground. During excavations, many objects made from copper were found, attesting to the site's importance from the Postclassic to the Spanish colonial period. Copper was a well-known medium of exchange during both periods.
