This place is magic. Wonderful service. Good food (maybe not so much for picky kids like mine), good drinks. Very relaxing. We were there for 3 nights on the jungle to beach package and they literally took care of everything -- tours, rides and all details at our beach resort.

5/5 - My family of six stayed here for four nights and had the best time. Mariposa coordinated everything for us (transport from BZE; two excursions (Caracol and ATM (both highly recommended)), transport and pickup for a day trip into San Ignacio, meal package (breakfast and dinner), and transport back to Belize City to head to San Pedro.

The entire staff was great, but Robbie was the face of our stay - he was great. You can tell that everyone here really cares about your family having a great time.

The property is gorgeous and peaceful. We stayed in the Iguana lodge (2 BR/2 BA and it was fine for our family of six). Pool area was great.

Food and drinks were fantastic - very personalized.

Bonne adresse!

This lodge felt more like a family/generic tourist destination than a birding-oriented lodge. There were feeders and bird baths that attracted birds, but overall, is utility for birding is primarily its proximity to Mountain Pine Ridge and its attendant birds.

The lodge is newer, and there rooms were very nice, though the beds were mixed. Some were too hard, others too soft. Food at the restaurant was expensive and mostly good, but the pad Thai was abysmal. Road noise detracted from the otherwise-jungly surroundings.

Amazing jungle experience Jan 2024. Spotless cottages were constructed by local artisans. Every meal was delicious, planned with our food preferences per advance email. Our excursion to Caracol was unforgettable as our guide, of Mayan heritage, shared more than academic information. Mariposa staff was friendly, kind and attentive to all our needs. Many adventures nearby, hiking on property, butterfly ranch nearby, caving, waterfalls, etc.

Amazing stay at Mariposa Jungle Lodge! Our family stayed for 5 nights there with a 2 and 4 year old, and everything was wonderful. The staff were super helpful with our questions about what things to visit, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Everything was very kid friendly - we especially loved the pool! The Blue Morpho apartment was perfect for us. We devoured Chef Norma's delicious meals every day and the drinks were wonderful too! Thank you for a wonderful experience!!

I cannot rave about this place enough. We were greeted with fresh juice (with a side of rum) which was super special. The woman who served us every day (Zana? I feel awful I can't remember her name) but she was so great with my teenager son who is a pretty picky eater. And he ate everything they made - it was all super fresh and yummy. My son also got sick while we were there and the guys made sure to find meds for him (thank you!). Then another one of the guys knew my son loved animals and helped us spot howler monkeys. The service was impeccable, the food delicious and it was an all around great experience. Also - request a tour of the caves and ziplining with Maya Adventures - Damien was amazing! The guy worked his butt off in the caves itself (which was an experience to remember) and then took us to a local place for lunch. Loved our time there!

Excellent location in a dense jungle setting. The cabana was very nice, supplied with water and a small refrigerator, but no coffee maker or other amenities. Mariposa appeared on my radar because of the very nice vegetarian menu they had posted on their website. I really just wanted to go for the food, but decided on an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. I was excited to eat there. The food was a major disappointment especially for the price they charged. There was no menu and no choice. I got the same vegetables in a breakfast omelette that they served me the night before stuffed into a pumpkin. They served my girlfriend rice and beans, which you can get at a thousand places in town for $10, and it wasn't even that good. (They were actually going to serve me rice and beans and just sub out the chicken, but I insisted on a vegetarian meal, which they provided.) The chef should be embarrassed.

Great place to stay. The staff was nice. We enjoyed breakfast and they even packed our lunches when we went on our excursion to Caracol! I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed the MJL for 3 nights and it was a great experience. The property was beautiful and the lodges were clean and comfortable. The staff was great. They were very attentive and accommodating. They helped us book all of the activities we wanted to do before we got to Belize. They also set us up with a ride into San Ignacio last minute to see the town. I highly recommend getting their food packages. They served restaurant level authentic Belizean food. After just 3 days we didn't want to leave.

If you're traveling to this area in Belize this is a must stay. They have Hiking trails and a bird tower for bird watching. And the service and food are fantastic.

In short, this is an amazing little property! We had a group of 7 (adults) that reserved the Jungle/Bneach package in tandem with the Xanadu Resort on Ambergris Caye. Mariposa has only 9 casitas. We took 4 of them. We had the resort to ourselves and it was fantastic. Glad, the manager, welcomed us to the resort and made feel completely at home. Robby, the bartender, server and great host offered fantastic FRESH Watermelon, Pineapple or Hibiscus Mojitos.
Our casitas are comfortable and unbelievably clean.
Our package included a trip to the Mayan Ruins - Caracol. Our guide Agusto was a wealth of knowledge. The trip included hiking into caves, seeing howler monkeys and all kinds of birds. A must do trip.
Just a few minutes from the resort is a Butterfly and Hummingbird garden - also a don't miss. They go through 8 lbs. of sugar a day just feeding the hummingbirds. Fantastic.
But I would be remiss not to include Norma & Civilla - They run the kitchen. The food is wonderful, creative and totally worth the trip.

On our trip back, we all agreed - WE MISS NORMA!!
Thanks to the rest of the staff - Rosa, Luis, Eddy, Vicente & Maritza
