Small Mayan village of Blue Creek, above a particularly impressive cave system, ideal for a swim
The small Mayan village of Blue Creek is a relatively recent creation (1925); it is more precisely called Ho'Keb'Ha ("the place from which the water emerges"), in reference to the place where the Rio Banco literally emerges from the mountain and converts into Blue Creek. The village is situated above a particularly impressive cave system. Although seldom visited, they are well worth the detour, and a guide is essential if you ever want to emerge.
