In 1886, in order to pay tribute to one of the greatest representatives of the economic growth of the region of the Ore Mountains, the town of Annaberg-Buchholz commanded the sculptor Robert Henze that this bronze statue by Barbara Uthmann crossed a Fountain. In the 1930 s, a child drowned there by playing on the water; the fountain was condemned and filled by flower tanks.
