INHOTIM
A huge park with three circuits, one pink, one yellow and one orange, designed to cater for smaller budgets.
The visit is organized around three circuits, one pink, one yellow and one orange, each comprising around ten buildings scattered across this immense park. Between these buildings, paths wind through a magnificent botanical garden dotted with lakes and works of art (often statues) in the open air. It's a magnificent walk.
As with all contemporary art museums, some of the rooms feature works that may be too conceptual... Some rooms are must-sees, but all are interesting.
The park office is modern and pleasant, and the queue is short on weekdays. A souvenir store is adjacent. If you're on a budget, you can visit on Wednesdays for free. On weekends, prices are higher and it gets very crowded.
Local transport. In the park, a small train can take you to the various buildings on the three Inhotim circuits. Honestly, this may not be very useful, it's rather expensive and you have to wait for it. The distances between the exhibition halls are actually quite short and, above all, the walk through the park is very pleasant, punctuated by statues and works of art to look at along the way.
Tip. Wear good sneakers, take water, sun cream, a hat and mosquito repellent, and you'll be well equipped for a day of gentle hiking. If you can, pack some sandwiches, as there's a discouraging queue outside the food outlets at lunchtime.
