CASTLE ISLAND
The Castellar is today an interesting promontory to contemplate the whole coast of the Balmeta
El castellar is the name given to this old islet, located a few metres from the mainland and now reunited. The Castellar has become the other emblematic place in the municipality and is now an interesting promontory from which to contemplate the entire coast of La Balmeta. Before it became a traditional place for walking, it had many functions: as a burial place, as the remains found here show, a lookout point or a place of defence, as evidenced by the two bunkers built into the rocks at the top.
