CAPE ROIG BOTANICAL GARDEN
Botanical garden located on a small peninsula south of the village of Calella houses nearly 1,000 botanical species
Situated on a small peninsula in the south of the village of Calella, it is rightly regarded as one of the most important botanical gardens in the Mediterranean area and its visit will be a great pleasure. Cape Roig originated in 1927 when Colonel Voevodsky bought this area to build a castle. His wife, an English aristocrat lover of architecture, takes care of the creation of the garden, structured in terraced terraces from castle to sea. This wonderful 17-hectare framework now houses nearly 1 000 botanical species from all over the world, as well as sculptures from recognized artists. Every summer, the prestigious Festival Jardins de Cap Roig offers a first-class musical selection in this incomparable setting.
