El Molí Petit, the flour mill of the monastery of Sant Joan de les Abadesses offers a visit with a short video
El Molí Petit (the Petit Moulin), documented since the 1970 th century, was the flour mill of the Sant Joan monastery of the Abadesses, and continued to operate, at the only strength of the canal water, until the s. Left behind, the municipality, recognizing the heritage value of the mill, decided to launch the restoration in 2003. It is the dynamic and passionate association Alt Ter who manages to lead the building to finally make it a Eco-Museum, centre for the study and interpretation of river ecosystems. Today, we can visit the exhibition, which in addition to raising public awareness of the fragility of rivers and their biodiversity, focuses on describing the former métier's profession and its importance at the time of the monks of Sant Joan, with a great deal of anecdotes of legends, and to explain the operation of the hydraulic mechanism.
