NOUVEAU MUSÉE DE LA MACHINE AGRICOLE ET DE LA RURALITÉ
Museum housing over 350 old mechanical machines, including some 40 combines still in working order.
This museum was born from the initiative of the Association des Amis de la Machine Agricole, bringing together many rural heritage enthusiasts. On the heights of Saint-Loup-des-Bois, over 300 pieces dating from the late 19th century until the 50s are exposed over 1,000 m². From Henryette (1912 steam machine) to Robert Bell steam tractor of 1911, the visit is worth the trip. Every year, on August 15, the Association organizes the great festival of harvesting and threshing named Rétromoisson: come and admire more than 350 old mechanics (including about forty combine harvesters, still in working condition!), participate in the workshops' labour, grass and old-fashioned, enjoy the folkloric dances, or taste local flavours, with the numerous stands of regional and craft products.
For children, a free playground is available at the museum reception desk. Daisy, the pretty little cow, the mascot of the place, will introduce the children to the history of agricultural machinery.
