ROCACORBA SANCTUARY
This sanctuary houses a modern copy of the image of the Virgin of Rocacorba
Of Rocacorba Castle, first mentioned in 1130, only a few walls and foundations remain, visible under the present sanctuary. The political centre of an early 15th century barony, it was gradually abandoned before the present sanctuary of the Virgin of Rocacorba was erected on its ruins in the 18th century. Inside there is a modern copy of the image of the Virgen de Rocacorba, a Gothic work, the original of which is kept in the Girona Art Museum. From up there you can enjoy an impressive view of the surroundings.
