SANTA AFRA SHRINE
This sanctuary is dedicated to a German martyr who claims to have been converted to Christianity by the bishop Sant Narcís
This sanctuary is a famous place of pilgrimage erected in 1760 on the site of a former oratory dedicated to the Mare de Déu dels Àngels and later to the Verge de les Neus. Today it is dedicated to a German martyr who claims to have been converted to Christianity by Bishop Sant Narcís in the 4th century. The temple consists of an original nave with side chapels and an atrium with three arches and a square bell tower, topped by a pointed dome bearing a cross, dating from the early 20th century. Access via a paved exit on the left of the road to Llorà.
