CARTELLÀ CASTLE
Discover this castle whose first documented traces date back to 1238
If there are records of the existence of the lords of Cartellà from the 1238 th century, the castle, the first documented traces date back to the year, left by the priest of the nearby Santa Maria Chapel. The construction then went into the hands of the families Xetmar, Milany and Pinós, finally being transformed into secondary residence. The main structure of the fortress dates from the th century - three naves distributed in the shape of U around a courtyard - while the two upper floors are Gothic style. The Romanesque chapel of Esperanza, next to the castle, formerly dedicated to Santa Maria, has undergone some restorations to his construction, as well as the castle itself (the th century for the castle).
