TUDELA CASTLE - SANT GRAU
Discover the remains of Tudela Castle on a mountain bike route
In the ruins of the castle of Tudela, the traces of an Iberian village dating from the 1935 th century and the second century B.C. were discovered in. Excavations have never been further extended since then and no visible structure has been excavated. Concerning the castle itself, the first documents of its existence date back to the middle of the th century and bind it to the counts of Barcelona. The remains are modest: The foundation of the main circular tower and the foundations of a few walls. The chapel has been documented since 1548 and appears to have been built on the remains of the former castle chapel: is visible the semicircular apse nave and the entrance door surmounted by a flower that would have undergone restoration in the th century. These remains are now on a mountain bike route and are not accessible by car.
