SANT SALVADOR DE BIANYA
This church is considered to be one of the most beautiful temples in the valley
Located in the centre of the small town of the same name, the church of Sant Salvador de Capsacosta is mentioned for the first time in a document of 1090, appearing as one of the possessions of the Sant Joan monastery of the Abadesses. Consecrated in 1170 by the bishop of Girona, Guillem de Monells, it is considered one of the most beautiful temples in the valley. A unique nave surmounted by a slightly pointed cradle, it was expanded in the th century by two side chapels in the form of false transept. The pillars supporting the cupola of the presbytery are endowed with capitals decorated with interesting motifs, including some human heads, and beautiful decorations of floral and plant inspiration also display the windows, that of the apse in particular, and the portal is in its neo-Romanesque style. Inside the church is a marble futon, somewhat eroded, decorated with zigzag motifs, a padlock and carved rope.
