VIA ROMANA DEL CAPSACOSTA
The Via Romana de Capsacosta was the only road connecting the Camprodon valley to the Bianya valley
Via Romana de Capsacosta was in Roman times a secondary route of Via Augusta, the main communication axis connecting Rome to Cadiz via the Pyrenees. It was then the only road linking the Camprodon Valley to that of Capsacosta. The only part of this ancient path to have passed through the centuries, still accessible today, is 8 kilometres long and links the village of Sant Pau de Segúries (Ripollès) in Traginers (Garrotxa) and measures a little less than 8 kilometres. The walk allows to discover the ancient pavés of the road and elements linked to its construction: sewers, quarries, bridges, water reservoirs and other things. A beautiful walk, in the footsteps of our ancestors the Romans.
