OLD-CENTE D'EL MALLOL
The village of Mallol stands on a hill that acts as a panoramic promontory over the valley
Standing on a hill that acts as a panoramic promontory overlooking the valley, the village of Mallol has a definite medieval charm. Formerly the residence of the viscounts of Bas, it had an imposing castle of which nothing remains today, due to the earthquakes of the 15th century, except for its jails and an ancient notary's house. The church that can be seen is dedicated to Sant Bartomeu, and was built on the ruins of the castle chapel, which was dedicated to Sant Just.
