Located nearly 30 minutes from downtown Dubai, here are two gardens that will delight both young and old. With nearly 100 million flowers, Dubai Miracle Garden is the largest flower garden in the world: a feat in the middle of the desert! This decor, made of multicoloured flowers arranged on 3D structures representing houses, an A380, Disney-style princess castles, or spilling from a giant tap suspended in the air, is reminiscent of Tim Burton's version ofAlice in Wonderland. Some will find it kitsch, others will find it magical, but what is certain is that the place will leave no one indifferent: so many flowers in the same place, it is bound to impress. Right next door is the Dubai Butterfly Garden, an addition that has been made to the flower garden, so that at least one attraction can stay open during the hottest months (Miracle Garden closes in the summer). Here, too, the record is set, since the first butterfly garden in the region is also the largest in the world, with a collection of 15,000 specimens. Composed of nine temperature-controlled indoor domes, in which hundreds of butterflies of different colours, shapes and sizes fly free, the garden also has a butterfly and insect museum. A joy for children who can evolve in the midst of these multicoloured lepidoptera.
