Library dedicated to Walter Benjamin in a modernist building housing the holdings of Gian-Luigi Ponzano and Philippe Yvernel.
After years of projects, the city of Portbou finally inaugurated the library dedicated to Walter Benjamin in February 2023. This is the first stage of the new cultural facility that has taken place in the old schools of the town, a modernist building classified as a property of local cultural interest. The new library includes the collections of Gian-Luigi Ponzano and Philippe Yvernel. Eventually, the future home of Walter Benjamin will be a center dedicated to the German philosopher.
