SAQORTOQ MUSEUM
Museum with a permanent exhibition on Dorset and Thule culture, Nordic culture and a temporary exhibition of works.
The museum is housed in the oldest building in the city. The permanent exhibition focuses on Dorset and Thule culture as well as Nordic culture. You will see old kayaks, hunting equipment, national dresses, tupilaks or a faithful copy of a peat cabin dating from the beginning of the last century. The most important rooms are the blue room and the red room where the explorer Knud Rasmussen and the aviator Charles Lindberg slept. The temporary exhibition presents works by current Greenlandic artists.
