STONE & MAN PROJECT
A permanent exhibition at Qaqortoq featuring forty sculptures carved throughout the town, some right out of the rock face.
In the mid-1990s, Greenlandic artist Aka Høegh chaired an ambitious sculpture project with 18 artists from several Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Greenland). The result was the permanent exhibition Stone & Man Project, featuring over 30 sculptures carved throughout the city, some right into the rock face. Have fun wandering around and discovering these sculptures for yourself in this open-air gallery. Here's a hint: start by taking a look around the harbour!
