Nuuk Snow Sculpture Festival open to artists from all over the world. Real and splendid ephemeral works of art!
This ice sculpture festival is open to artists from all over the world, as well as to amateurs. Each team of sculptors receives a block of snow from the organizers. The end result is an extraordinary array of icy forms installed in a park lit up at night, creating fantastic light effects on these ephemeral works of art. Prizes are awarded to the best sculptures on the fourth day of the festival. Please note: the festival is alcohol-free and sometimes cancelled for lack of snow due to global warming.
