KATUAQ
Nuuk cultural center with aurora borealis-inspired architecture, inviting you to experience Greenlandic culture.
Katuaq is Nuuk's cultural centre, opened in 1997. Its magnificent architecture designed by the Dane Schmidt Hammer Lassen is inspired by the Northern Lights. You can experience Greenlandic culture in different ways: coffee, exhibitions, concerts, theatre, library, dance, cinema and even a conference centre and an art school. A must visit, at least to have a coffee and enjoy the atmosphere around very Scandinavian! Many women find themselves there with strollers and needles to knit while chatting.
